What piece would you most like the BCB to play, and why?
-
Well @Dannomyte, it was written by a Gordon, so of course it would have a march.
-
Okay...
I would really like to sink my teeth into this one!
I love this arrangement...
Featuring the saxophone section, a cool trumpet solo, wicked drumming, and a rocking trombone melody....this is would be popular with our audience.
It's a big band piece (those who also grew up under Don Allan will know why I like this) and makes you want to get up to dance!
Yes ... BCB's version of Swing Kids -
@Pualanasn Great choice. Thanks for the suggestion and sharing the music.
-
I nominate "Charge of the Light Brigade" and "Victory at Sea" because both paint vivid pictures and have rich chords. Maybe it is my military days too. They would do well around Nov 11th.

If you liked Ross Roy, you'll like Persis:
-
I would.like to hear greatest showman as well A millions dreams or movie score. Also you raise me up josh groban. Can't remember if we have played that already.
-
Almost any Broadway show. They are always melodic, feature different sections of the band and usually have solos for varying instruments as well. We could make a whole concert out of a collection of them.
-
@wjerome Ah, I agree... the only downside, is that arrangements of an entire piece from a musical are far and few between. The arrangements are predominately medleys.
-
@julian Actualy I only meant the "overtures" as they contain much of the familiar stuff to us and our audience. Our library has quite a collection of these.
-
Those both help @lisa-yl, but it's really the marches.
